EMMS exists for our members. We’re here to serve your needs, providing you equipment and expertise needed to realize your creativity. Join EMMS today, and become part of a growing network of makers.

While we’re still formulating our business plan, we want to sketch out our current membership strategy. Benefits and rates below are subject to change. Please take our Survey at the bottom of the page or Contact Us to let us know what you think of these membership plans.

Membership Benefits

Each member can bring one guest to help with design and handwork. Guests may not use any equipment that requires an Introductory Class or reserve equipment.

Individual

Making solo

  • $25 one-time initiation fee
  • $65/month
    • 6 month bundle:  $350 (save 10%)
    • 12 month bundle:  $660 (save 15%)
  • 40 hrs/month makerspace time
  • 6 hrs/month machine time per piece of reservable equipment
  • 2 hrs/month personalized staff time, if available
  • Extra time may be purchased

Family

Team effort: Up to 3 people with a shared address

  • $40 one-time initiation fee
  • $95/month for entire household
    • 6 month bundle:  $515 (save 10%)
    • 12 month bundle:  $970 (save 15%)
  • 60 hrs/month cumulative makerspace time
  • 9 hrs/month machine time per piece of reservable equipment
  • 3 hrs/month personalized staff time, if available
  • Extra time may be purchased

Youth Membership

EMMS encourages creativity in our youth (<18) with two Youth Membership options.

Option 1

Youths may accompany an adult member for free.

  • Membership benefits apply only to the main adult member—youths cannot reserve equipment on their own and do not get discounts on classes with this option.
  • Adult member must be present; youths cannot work in EMMS alone with this option.
  • Youth 10-14 yrs.: Youth members can use most general equipment with adult supervision.
  • Youth 15-17 yrs.: Youth members can use advanced equipment, after appropriate Introductory Class (or Test Out) and guardian sign-off.

Option 2

Youths may have their own membership at a discounted price.

  • Full membership benefits apply—youth members can reserve equipment and receive discounts on classes with this option.
  • Youth 10-14 yrs., $30/month: Youth members can use most general equipment with adult supervision (adult need not be a member to supervise).
  • Youth 15-17 yrs., $40/month: Youth members can use advanced equipment, after appropriate Introductory Class (or Test Out) and guardian sign-off.

Day Pass

Need to do just one little thing?

EMMS also offers day passes to walk-ins. This is a great option if you want to try out our facilities before committing to a monthly membership.
